GlüxKind approached us in the later stages of development for Ella, a smart stroller that integrates electric assist and autonomous features to support parents in everyday use. Our focus was on refining the design to ensure it could be manufactured reliably and at scale, without compromising on quality or performance. The collaboration allowed us to resolve key challenges around production readiness while preserving the intent and integrity of the original design.

Our work centred on developing and refining the sensor bar and handlebar, two critical components in both the functionality and user interaction of the Ella stroller. Working from GlüxKind’s early prototypes, we re-engineered these assemblies with a focus on manufacturability, assembly efficiency, and durability. This involved simplifying part geometries, selecting appropriate materials and fastening methods, and ensuring the design could be consistently produced at scale without sacrificing performance or aesthetics. The result was a streamlined solution that met both the product’s technical requirements and the realities of production.
Alongside engineering support, we led the industrial design development of several key components, including the motor housing, sensor bar, folding mechanism, and front wheels. The focus was on creating a cohesive, user-friendly aesthetic while addressing technical requirements such as usability, safety, and manufacturability. By carefully balancing form and function, these design elements enhance the stroller’s overall experience and build quality. This comprehensive approach ensured that each component not only met practical needs but also contributed to the stroller’s distinctive and polished appearance.
Since its launch, GlüxKind’s Ella smart stroller has achieved notable milestones, securing nearly $10million in preorders and garnering extensive press coverage from major tech and parenting publications. The stroller has been recognized with prestigious accolades such as the CES 2023 Innovation Award Honouree. Ella started shipping in the US in 2023 and continues to grow.
