On the golf course, there is very rarely a simple flat lie, in most situations your body, stance and swing technique must adapt on a case by case basis. Despite this, other than getting out on the course, there is no way to train for these situations. Libro approached AETHA to design an all-new training aid that simulates these scenarios, allowing users to practise their swing on uneven ground no matter where they are.

Libro founder Dario came to us with a rough homemade prototype that provided the desired functionality but one that needed refinement to streamline the user experience and improve commercial viability. Together we took the principles of this prototype and ideated different ways it could be done, all with differing user experiences
The key to refining Libro’s starting prototype was finding ways that the angle of the platform could be altered to provide the needed 360 degrees of freedom but in a simple and easy to operate mechanism. After ideating and testing various mechanisms we settled on bike seat post style clamps in each corner. A simple design that is strong, lightweight and, vitally, quick and easy to operate.
After settling on a functional mechanism direction, we set about refining the industrial design direction and overall construction of the product using CAD. This ultimately left us with a 3D model with all the required parts that we could send to out prototyping manufacturing partner to produce a looks-like, works-like model. This prototype allowed us to validate the design and for Libro to test the product with key stakeholders to highlight areas for refinement prior to manufacture
"So glad we found Aetha, Tom and the team have been great - not just with the design itself but also with support & advice on our new business venture."
