Wax warmers have seen a recent and rapid rise in popularity, offering an inexpensive way to have a great smelling space.
Vayuu approached Aetha with the intention of designing a no-spill wax warmer; a solution that will make your space smell great without compromising on safety.

Design for Manufacture
We conceived of various ways the no-spill feature could be achieved, from one-way valves to air-tight seals.
Through various rounds of prototype and material testing we landed on the use of breathable fabrics that allow gasses to pass through whilst being a barrier to liquids.
The end result, an interchangeable, recyclable wax pod that is ideal commercially without harming the environment.
From the outset we began testing electronic components, ultimately coding a working system that allowed us experiment with different user interaction experiences. This allowed us to refine the experience and industrial design before working alongside an electronics partner.
As with all projects, we optimised the design for manufacture without compromising on aesthetics or functionality.
We produced accurate technical drawing sets that were handed to a manufacturing partner who we collaborated with in conjunction with Vayuu to refine design and tooling intricacies all the way through to final injection moulded samples.
